How MiA ONE is redefining the HR assistant for Enterprise teams

မျှဝေရန်

For more than a decade, HR self-service has meant portals and apps: structured menus, form-based workflows, and the expectation that employees would navigate it all themselves. It worked. But it had limits.

MiHCM built MiA ONE on a different premise entirely: that every employee deserves a personal AI agent – one that understands natural language, takes action, and completes HR tasks on their behalf.

Unveiled at ‘MiHCM Connect 2026’ in Kuala Lumpur, MiA ONE represents a fundamental shift in how enterprise HR technology is experienced.

From portals to conversations: The problem MiA ONE solves

Traditional employee self-service platforms such as web portals and mobile apps have served organisations well. But as MiHCM Group CEO Harsha Purasinghe explained at ‘Connect 2026,’ they come with inherent limitations.

“Traditionally, employee self-service and experience delivery have been through web portals and mobile apps, and they’ve served us well for the past few years, but they have limitations. We realised it was time to reimagine the entire employee experience.”

— Harsha Purasinghe, Group CEO, MiHCM

The vision he described was clear: turn every employee into an empowered digital worker, supported by a personal AI agent – one that replaces the need to navigate menus or fill in forms.

What makes MiA ONE different: An AI agent that acts

MiA ONE is not a chatbot. It is a personal AI agent; one that goes beyond answering questions to actively completing tasks.

Employees interact with MiA ONE through natural, conversational language to complete a wide range of HR and workplace tasks. According to the MiA ONE user guide, these include:

  • Applying for leave, checking balances, and cancelling approved requests
  • Recording check-in and check-out times
  • Viewing payslips and generating salary verification letters
  • Submitting reimbursement claims, travel requests, and overtime applications
  • Querying trained company policy documents for instant answers
  • Booking meeting rooms and office spaces
  • Viewing attendance timesheets, late hours, and absence summaries
  • Accessing and requesting updates to personal employee profiles
  • Tracking the status of submitted requests
  • Submitting and viewing work timesheets
  • Logging and analysing fitness activities

For managers, MiA ONE extends further: enabling team leave and attendance summaries, subordinate-level analysis, approval management, and team directory-driven content generation, such as drafting personalised emails to team members.

MiA ONE understands context and conversational nuance, so employees do not need to use exact commands. The AI agent interprets intent and responds accordingly.

Accessible wherever work happens

MiA ONE is accessible via any web browser as well as native iOS and Android applications. Employees sign in using their existing MiHCM credentials, ensuring a seamless, low-friction experience without the need for separate accounts or onboarding processes.

MiA ONE operates within each organisation’s configured MiHCM tenant. Features available to employees are determined by what has already been set up for their organisation, ensuring governance, consistency, and alignment with existing HR processes.

Intelligence and security: Built together, not bolted on

MiA ONE does not operate in isolation. It is part of MiHCM’s broader AI ecosystem, with Syntra — MiHCM’s AI core platform — providing the intelligence layer.

Syntra unlocks the power of each client’s MiHCM private tenant data, combining it with the organisation’s enterprise data and uploaded documents to generate real-time insights. It is built on Microsoft Azure, ensuring enterprise-grade performance, uptime, and regional adaptability, with end-to-end security and compliance.

For enterprise teams, this distinction matters. MiA ONE combines the capability of an AI agent with enterprise-grade security, giving organisations confidence that employee data remains protected and isolated, even as AI delivers personalised, context-aware experiences.

A new standard for the employee experience

The launch of MiA ONE signals a broader shift in what enterprise HR technology should deliver. As Purasinghe described it at ‘Connect 2026’:

“Imagine an entire workforce guided each day by their own personal digital workplace assistant – one that understands you, your work, and your context.”

— Harsha Purasinghe, Group CEO, MiHCM

For HR leaders evaluating their technology roadmap, the question is no longer whether AI will play a role in the employee experience; it is whether the AI available to their workforce is truly capable of acting on their behalf.

MiA ONE is MiHCM’s answer to that question. It is available to clients now.
